What We Do

Since 2016, we have led the effort to build 7 bridges in 5 countries across the world.

And we aren’t stopping there.

Our Mission

Here at our UIUC Engineers in Action Bridge Program, students collaborate with international communities in need to design and construct footbridges over impassable rivers worldwide to strive for a world with equal opportunity. Without these footbridges, these communities face isolation, which is a major cause of poverty. Our bridges have had huge impacts in boosting economic opportunities and safe access to vital infrastructure. The chart below shows real data on how our bridges have lead to percentage increases in key areas of the community.

“There really is no organization that provides the full experience that the EIA Bridge Program [does] on campus. No classroom on campus immerses a student in the aspects of project management, design, cultural relations, construction scheduling, and leadership.”

— Sam Kottoor
